Timelapse With Android
Sep 2, 2023
In a previous post I had written a script for my Pi Zero to capture images that would be turned into a timelapse video. Well, my Pi Zero for that is currently in Canada and I wanted to see if there was another way I could do this. I had recently switched phones from a Pixel 4a to a Pixel 7a so decided to start researching into turning that phone into a decent camera for timelapse photography. Turns out it's pretty easy. Just got a tripod and used an app called Open Camera and went to work tweaking settings.

Well I did have issues with the tripod I had gotten. It was swaying quite a bit, even inside without a fan or anything running. That was also mulitplied by the 1.5x zoom or so I was using to try to keep my neighbor's car out of the frame. I worked out some of those details and continued to tweak settings and frame intervals. Going to try to keep at it later in the year but did miss out on the corn field being harvested. Enjoy the videos below and let me know what you think.
